Youth Organisation for Voluntary Activities AUSTEJOS DRAUGAI (AUSTEJA FRIENDS)

"Austeja Friends" is non-government, non-profit making organisation for voluntary service. "Austeja Friends" promotes, organises and co-ordinates voluntary, educational and practical activities for young people in the social, environmental and other fields. The basic goal of our work is to promote the ideas of voluntary service within Lithuania. The way "Austeja Friends" achieves its goals is organizing voluntary workcamps in Lithuania and sending volunteers abroad to similar workcamps.
In summer 2004 "Austeja Friends" has recruited volunteers for 4 workcamps: mainly concerning social work with children and teenagers.
"Austeja Friends" has sent volunteers to other international voluntary workcamps in Eastern, Western and Central Europe. Members of "Austeja Friends" takes part in different seminars organised by Council of Lithuanian Youth Organisations.
"Austeja Friends" understands the importance of co-operation. "Austeja Friends" is going to become a member of LiJOT (Council of Lithuanian Youth Organisations), also it develops more and more contacts with different NGOs in Lithuania. "Austeja Friends" co-operates with international organisations as well: "Austeja Friends" is a full member of East-West Working Group of SCI (Service Civil International).
"Austeja Friends" is participating in European Commission programme "Youth", namely in EVS action, as bilateral partners with other EU countries.
